Root Canal Therapy
Root Canal (endontic) Therapy is a process in which a dentist treats the "pulp" or inner tissue of a tooth. The pulp helps to provide nutrients and nerves to a tooth. A root canal is most commonly used to save a tooth with a diseased nerve.
A standard root canal procedure involves removing the tooth's pulp tissue, cleaning and sealing off the root canal and finally, placing a crown over the tooth to strengthen it. Root canal therapy is often a very simple procedure which involves little or no patient discomfort.
If you have a damaged pulp or nerve call Dr. Capua at her Carrollton office today.
